Hi there, I'm Heidi
A Little About Me:
I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in North Dakota with experience working in community mental health, secondary and post-secondary academic settings, crisis intervention, and private practice. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.
When I'm not in the office, you'll likely find me spending time with my husband, stepchildren, and our two Frenchton pups—who occasionally make appearances around the office and are always happy to greet visitors. I love being outdoors, renovating and decorating spaces, caring for my ever-growing collection of plants, and finding new projects to tackle. Most days, I'm either fully on the go or curled up on the couch recharging—there's rarely an in-between.
What I love most about being a therapist is helping people get to the root of what’s keeping them stuck. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, life transitions, or patterns that no longer serve you, I believe meaningful change starts with understanding yourself on a deeper level.
I am endlessly curious about people's stories—the experiences that shaped them, the relationships that impacted them, the hardships they've overcome, and the strengths they've discovered along the way. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they gain insight, build healthier relationships, and create lives that feel more aligned with who they want to be.
I'd be honored to hear your story and help you take the next step toward the life and relationships you deserve.
My Approach
I believe therapy should be both insightful and practical. While I use evidence-based approaches, my goal isn't to overwhelm you with clinical jargon, worksheets, or rigid treatment plans. Instead, I help you understand the patterns, beliefs, emotions, and experiences that may be keeping you stuck—and work with you to create meaningful, lasting change.
Clients often describe me as direct, honest, and relatable. I won't sit back and watch the same patterns repeat without helping you understand what's happening beneath the surface. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, communication difficulties, or recurring conflicts, we'll explore not only what is happening, but why it's happening.
I believe growth comes from having honest conversations, increasing self-awareness, and being willing to look inward. Therapy can be uncomfortable at times, but you won't have to navigate those challenges alone. My role is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, challenged, and encouraged as you work toward the life and relationships you want.
I tailor therapy to each client's unique goals, needs, and experiences. Together, we'll identify the patterns that no longer serve you, develop practical tools for change, and build a deeper understanding of yourself so you can show up more intentionally in your relationships and everyday life.
My work is informed by several evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
